ACCNE To Dedicate Our Entire Years Fund Raising To The EBCSK Renovation Project

To Our Membership

In the past we have supported the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen, this is a local charity organization that helps the less fortunate people that live in our community.

This year we visited EBCSK to donate, with funds from our Holiday Fundraising Drive. When we arrived, there was a line of people around the corner of the Church waiting to pick up a bag of groceries. We were all amazed at the overall need in the community and the dedication of the founder Sandra Nijjar and all the volunteers that make it all possible. We had a tour of the Our Saviours Lutheran Church and the basement kitchen and Hall area. During our tour Sandra and David Clancy told us all about what the do and the challenges they face to receive support.

One of the biggest challenges the EBCSK faces is that their Kitchen and Hall are in dire need of renovation and because of this they do not qualify for food from the Greater Boston Food Bank.

We were all so impressed with the work that they do in our community, that we decided to join forces with the EBCSK and help them to raise funds for their Renovation Project.
This year the ACCNE will dedicate our entire years fund raising effort to support the EBCSK Renovation Project.

Dear donors, volunteers, supporters and allies of our East Boston Community Soup Kitchen,

We hope this email finds you doing well. We are excited to send this email to announce the launch of our fundraising campaign to renovate our East Boston Community Soup Kitchen space located at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in East Boston.

Please consider making a donation today; any amount makes a huge different and it is greatly appreciated. We have set a goal of $50,000 to bring the kitchen space up to code, to renovate working and cooking space, to buy new appliances and to improve our storage of perishables and non perishable items.

We will be fundraising this entire year through different events and teaming up with other local residents and businesses to help reach this goal. We believe this is a vitally important campaign for us and by renovating this space we will be able to serve many more of our guests who are experiencing food insecurity, homeless, mental health, substance use disorder, trauma and more.

With your support, we will start construction as soon as we have enough funds to start this wonderful project. Our dream is to have all renovations done by no later than August of 2021 so that we can serve our community better starting in our birth month which is September 14th. We know it is only a few months away, but we also believe that dreams do come true so we will stay hopeful and optimistic. Thank you wholehearted for supporting our ebcsk’s efforts and for believing in our work.

With immense gratitude,
Sandra and EBCSK team
